Waste from car production in the EU
The total amount of waste generated during car production in the EU has been reduced by 2.2% since 2005, as this interactive chart shows.
The waste generated per unit produced by the manufacturing of passenger cars went up by 32% over 17 years.
Waste fluctuations, both in absolute and per unit terms can be explained by the occurrence of singular events, such as a fall in total production during the economic crisis.
