Job opportunity: (Senior) Statistics and Automotive Intelligence Manager

The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) is looking for a (Senior) Statistics and Automotive Intelligence Manager to expand its data-driven communications and policy work.

Role Overview

As the (Senior) Statistics and Automotive intelligence Manager, you will lead statistical analysis, data modeling, and insights generation and ensure the accuracy and reliability of our intelligence products. You will also be responsible for the delivery of ACEA press releases on new vehicle registrations, and other statistical publications, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to transparency and data dissemination.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee data collection, validation, and quality control measures ensuring highest data accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct statistical analyses on automotive market data, making relevant correlations, and translate the findings into actionable information for policy and business strategy.
  • Extract meaningful insights from a broad range of market research and industrial data including on emerging trends, consumer preferences, …
  • Present analytical findings to executive leadership & external partners.
  • Come up with ideas for and draft articles, research reports and publications for communications and other use, in close collaboration with the ACEA communications team.
  • Oversee statistical reports or publications produced by external consultants.
  • Proactively seek out and assess new potential data sources to enrich and expand the organisation’s analytical capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain a network of partners for intelligence sharing, ensuring a steady flow of industry insights and fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Handle a statistics budget, manage contracts & subscriptions to external data providers in addition to software licenses.
  • Contribute to the launch of a new intelligence structure, offering data sets, market studies & expertise on the European automotive industry to external parties.

Profile

  • Master’s in Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a challenging statistical / data analysis role or projects within a trade association, consultancy, or research institute or similar.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistical software (eg, R, Python, SAS) and experience applying statistical techniques to real-world problems.
  • Proficiency in AI based tools supporting and generating research, analysis and development of new products
  • Familiarity with market research methodologies and industry-specific data sources.
  • Ability to align statistical findings with organisational goals and long-term vision.
  • Keen eye for detail, a feel for data visualisation and ability to compellingly draft insightful reports.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Tableau and LocalFocus for creating interactive graphical representations of data.
  • Self-starter as well as team player, entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Fluent in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus (French, Spanish, Italian, German…).
  • Based in Brussels or willing and eligible to work in Brussels.
