#FutureDriven Manifesto policy recommendation: Keep Europe moving and preserve mobility of people and goods

Mobility is key to wealth creation and must not be jeopardised: it should be affordable and accessible to all European citizens and businesses.
The EU has set one of the most ambitious electrification targets for cars and vans in the world.
European auto manufacturers are playing their part in achieving these targets by committing to invest €250 billion into electrification by 2030.
But the electric vehicle (EV) transition must be inclusive and accessible to all European citizens and businesses.
After all, the vehicles we produce keep Europe on the move. And affordable EVs are an essential part of preserving the mobility of people and goods.
Today, EVs cost more to produce in Europe than combustion engine models or EVs imported from regions with lower manufacturing costs.
Affordably and profitably manufacturing EVs in Europe is a challenge without the right industrial framework in place.
Find out what Europe’s policy makers can do to help us achieve shared goals in this first of a series of five #FutureDriven Manifesto policy recommendations.
